For the last few days I have been enjoying what is called trauma recovery. I feel good, my thoughts are focused and positive, I am eating and sleeping well, keeping my schedule, and I am connected to my life and the people in it.
I have learned through my healing journey however, that even in the highest of moments my past traumas can still cause me distress.
Yet, in these moments I do have control of how badly the distress level is based on how I employ my coping skills and self-care practices.
When I am feeling my best, I try to remember these are the moments when I need to practice coping skills so that I know how to navigate them effortlessly when trying times occur.
Feeling inadequate is one of my biggest triggers so I want to focus on coping skills on Self-Love and Self-Appreciation.
