My recovery from childhood sexual abuse
This is a story I haven't told. To this point in my sharing, I have kept it safe - speaking only of the people who are dead, or thousands of miles away from me. She is my sister's mom, and she also abused me.
Shame and embarrassment often come hand in hand with childhood trauma. They hinder the healing process and stop a survivor from being their authentic self.
As a trauma survivor, shame is something I battle often.
